Process which consists in subjecting the foods contained in the containers, once said containers have been closed by heat welding, to electromagnetic wave irradiation of sufficient magnitude to give rise to the molecular vibration of the food, with an intensity capable of raising the temperature of the foods inside the container to values which allow neutralization and inactivation of any live organisms. <IMAGE>
