<p>To control microorganisms present in a service water supply unit, cold water is added to the heated service water just before its delivery to the consumer in an automatically controlled amount, more precisely either as a function of the water throughput in the hot water feed line 1 or as a function of the cold water temperature in the cold water supply line 2. In a device suitable for carrying out this process having a tap 5 fed from these lines 1, 2, therefore, there is disposed either in the hot water feed line 1 upstream of the tap a control element 3 which can be actuated by the hot water throughput, e.g. a so-called water switch, or a control element 3 which is influenced by the cold water temperature, which control element controls the rate of the cold water added to the hot water. Both control elements 3 can also be combined with one another. The hot-water-bearing part of the service water pipe system always receives a flow of hot water heated to a bactericidal temperature. <IMAGE></p> |
