<p>The tower packing is used for energy and/or mass exchange installations or mist collectors, for example for cooling towers, for perforating filters in biological effluent treatment plants or for chemical columns, for heat exchangers in direct contact with media, or for fluid distributors or air feeds. It has a plurality of through channels 11 arranged side by side in a grid, through which gaseous and/or liquid media flow. The axes 12 of the through channels 11 extend essentially in the manner of a helix over the majority of their length.
