<p>PURPOSE:To avoid the erroneous detection of nonexistent motion attending with the leaking-in of a chrominance signal by providing an inter-adjacent line correlation detection part to detect the high area component of a luminance signal included in a video signal and to supply a control signal, which lowers the synthesizing ratio of the chrominance signal to a motion detection signal with the increase of the high area component, to a final synthesizing part. CONSTITUTION:The separated luminance signals outputted from an adder circuit 3d of a comb-line filter 3 and an adder circuit 4d of a comb-line filter 4 are added by an adder circuit 45 of a third luminance signal high area component detection system 40 and outputted as the mean value of the luminance signal spreading over adjacent frames. In correspondence to cases that all the outputs of three high area component detection systems 20, 30 and 40 are wholly low, only one output is high, the two outputs are high or all the outputs are wholly high, a decoder 50 generates the respective coefficients of 1, 0.5, 0.25 and 0 and supplies the coefficient to the coefficient circuit 14 of a motion detection part for the chrominance signal. Accordingly, in the synthesizing circuit of the motion detection signal composed of the coefficient circuit 14 and a maximum value selection circuit 15, the more the high area component of the luminance signal is increased, the lower the synthesizing ratio of the motion detection signal for the chrominance signal is made.</p> |
