PURPOSE:To enable to reliably protect the third rail current collector even if an arc occurs between the collector and rails by providing an arc protecting plate at the side near the main rail of a supporting frame of the collector. CONSTITUTION:A current collecting shoe 5 of the third rail current collector is projected so as to be pressed by a suitable pressing force to the third rail 1 by a spring rotatably by a pin 7 from a supporting frame 6. Further, an arc protecting plate 16 is mounted to the frame 6 with mounting bracket 14 and a mounting bolt 15 at the lower side of the frame 6 of the shoe 5. Thus, even if an arc occurs between the third rail current collector 6 and the main rail 3, the arc is shifted to the plate 16. Accordingly, it can prevent the frame 6 from damaging.
