It is known to assemble a cupola-shaped building roof from a plurality of roof segments having different radii of curvature, some of which are arranged in a stationary manner and some of which, in order to open the building roof, can rotate, beneath the stationary roof segments, about the vertical central axis of the cupola. The rotatable roof segments are mounted, by means of their base-side border, on rails via wheels and, at their vertices, are suspended, such that they can rotate, at the free ends of a load-bearing structure which engages over the cupola roof from the outside. In order to avoid this high-outlay, overhanging load-bearing structure, the invention provides, at the free lateral border of the roof segments 1, 2, correspondingly curved border load-bearing members 6a, 6b which reinforce the framework of the roof segments 1, 2 to provide a self-supporting structure. <IMAGE>
