A splicing device for splicing the tow ends of synthetic-fibre tows has a pair of nozzle carriers (17) with pairs of nozzles (18) directly in opposition. These can be loaded with compressed air, the connection of the tow ends brought between the pair of nozzle carriers (17) being made by aerodynamic swirling. In order to allow an automatic splicing operation, the pair of nozzle carriers (17) is arranged on a nozzle-carrier movement apparatus (10) movable transversely to the longitudinal extension of the synthetic-fibre tows. Additionally provided is a cutting apparatus (4) which is likewise movable parallel thereto and which, after splicing, cuts off the projecting fibre ends. A clamping apparatus (22) with clamping jaws (23) ensures that the tow ends are fixed. <IMAGE>
