PURPOSE:To produce compact disks suitable for small scale many kind of production by irradiating a photoabsorbing layer with laser spots to cut the layer after the disk is formed and omitting the processes from manufacturing a master to manufacturing a stamper. CONSTITUTION:The photoabsorbing layer 2 is formed on the surface of a light- transmissive substrate 1 in which a guide method for tracking of a laser spot 7 provided by an optical pick up 6 is formed. A light reflecting layer 3 is formed thereon, and then covered with a protective layer 4 to constitute the disk. The disk is irradiated with the laser spot on the photoabsorbing layer 2 from the light-transmissive substrate side, by which the photoabsorbing layer is cut to record datas which can be reproduced. By this method, processes from mastering to manufacturing a stamper become unnecessary. Compact disks can be obtained only by irradiating the optical absorbing layer 2 with laser spots after the disk is formed, and by subjecting the disk to cutting. Thus, compact disks for a small lot can be easily produced. |
