Separator with pawl of liq. crystalline polymer for sepg. sheet - esp. from photoreceptor of copier after toner image transfer

Device for sepg. sheet material has a sepg. pawl in contact with the surface form which the sheet is to be sepd. The novelty is that the contact section of the pawl consists of a liq. crystalline polymer (I). Pref. (I) is an aromatic polyester and has Mw = 104 to 107 and Mw/Mn = 20 or less. (I) contains electroconductive material(s), pref. 20-60 (wt.)% "Ketjen Black", C black, metal turnings, metal fibres and metal-coayed fibres; 20-60% glass fibres; 20-60% graphite; or 20-60% mica, silica or talc. The contact section is produced by injection moulding; or cast in one piece with an elastic section for pressing it against the element to be sepd. The fixing rollers are coated with fluoro-resin or silicone rubber. USE/ADVANTAGE - The device is claiemd for use in a copier, pref. on the downstream side of a station where a toner image is transferred to paper, esp. in contact with one or both fixing rolls. It is useful in electronic copiers, printers, facsimile equipment, etc. The pawl is difficult to distort and has high heat resistance and excellent sliding (contact) properties. It has excellent processing properties and can be made with high dimensional accuracy. It can operate for long periods without damaging the surface of the photoreceptor.
