PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR MACHINING CURVED CONTOURS WITH CONTROLLABLE DRIVES

In order to minimize deviations from the desired contour at reversal points of a feed movement during machining of curved contours by means of controllable feed drives for axes which make angles with each other, a correction pulse is generated in function of the time at which the feed movement changes direction. This correction pulse is added to a target speed value which is transmitted to the feed drive. The time at which the correction pulse is associated with the change of direction of the feed movement can be chosen in function of the prevailing conditions. The amplitude of the correction pulse can be determined in particular in function of a quantity which is proportional to the load on the feed drive at constant speed.
