<p>Pyrogallol deriv. of general formula (I) is an intermediate cpd. in organic syntheses and is obtd. by ethoxylation in melted state of 1,2,3 tri:hydroxy benzene with 1,3-dioxolan-2-one, in the presence of a basic catalyst pref. in 3-4 hrs. The raw mass is crystallised from a soln. in ethyl-acetate contg. a cpd. to solvent wt. ratio of 1:55-1:20 pref. 1:8-1:10 decolourised by boiling with activated carbon and filtered. Crystals are finally sepd. from the mother liq. by mutsch filtration and dried in air.</p> |
