Device for horizontally retaining flags on flagpoles of a diameter of from 4 to 10 cm. Flag-retaining means with 1, 2, 3 and 4 extension arms of length of 1.5 metres, which can be fastened if required. Flag-retaining means of various internal diameters of a diameter of from 4 to 10 cm in 7 sizes. The flag-retaining means serves to make more of the flag in windy and wind-free conditions since, otherwise, the flag hangs down limply and cannot be read. The flags are retained in a legible, horizontal position. The flag-retaining means can be used inside and outside.
