PURPOSE:To enable low-water absorptive recording paper to be fixed and discharged in a sufficiently dried condition by a method wherein recording modes are divided into a non-coated paper or OHP paper mode and a coated paper mode, and a fixing means is actuated in the recording with the non-coated paper or OHP paper mode. CONSTITUTION:A recording member (paper) is supplied from a pick-up roller 412 to a nip part of a pair of register rollers 415, 416 through feed rollers 413, 414 and a guide part 419. The rotation of the register rollers 415, 416 is started to lead the recording member onto a carry belt 101 through guides 417, 418. Based on a signal of starting this rotation, a signal of starting the scanning of an original and a signal of starting the printing with each head are issued. Then, a printing is conducted with a head discharge surface spaced a proper gap from a recording paper surface. Thereafter, the paper is fed into a paper fixing, discharging part 307 to be fixed. When coated paper is used as the recording paper, it is not required to be fixed. However, in the case of the use of non-coated paper, a fixing means is required. |
