In a process for producing plastic pipes, in particular for underfloor heating installations and for drinking water supply, which are composed of a basic polyethylene body, a bonding agent layer applied on the outer circumference of this basic body and a layer applied on this bonding agent layer as an oxygen barrier, it is provided according to the invention that after the extrusion of the basic body and the coating with bonding agent and oxygen barrier layer the finished plastic pipe is crosslinked.
