PURPOSE:To enable manual rotation to be performed simplifying a structure by generating a standing wave in a vibrator and releasing a lock condition when an output shaft is stopped. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is constituted of a stator 4 and a rotor 10 in a cover 2 and an output shaft 8 or the like, and the motor is driven rotating the applying AC voltage from a drive circuit to a vibrator 6 of the motor. The motor provides a standing wave generation signal generating means in the drive circuit while a low friction member 26 in the stator 4. Then in the time of stopping the rotor 10, a standing wave generation signal is supplied to the vibrator 6, when a standing wave is generated in the stator 4, this vibrator interacts with the low friction member 26, enabling the rotor 10 to be rotated for the stator 4. |
