PURPOSE:To eliminate or reduce high frequency noise included in a picture signal without giving a fog to the edge of a picture by correcting a signal value at a prescribed point in a picture signal through the use of the signal at the point of both ends. CONSTITUTION:An MPU 1 reads a data comprising (n+1) sets of picture signals digitized by an A/D converter 3 and makes them as f(0)-f(n) corresponding to each picture element of a sensor. Then signals f(i--1), f(i+1) corresponding to picture elements placed aside are compared with the i-th picture element, and when they are nearly equal, the signal f(i) corresponding to the i-th picture element is replaced into a mean value of the signals f(i-1), f(i+1). When the two signals f(i--1), f(i+1) are not regarded to be equal to the signal f(i), no processing is applied to the signal corresponding to the i-th picture element. Since high frequency noise is reduced or eliminated, the high frequency noise is reduced or eliminated without giving a fog to the edge of the picture. |
