Floodlights

In the case of floodlights it is common to provide on the side of the light emission opening a light-transparent screen which closes said opening, is fastened to the housing so that it can be folded up and bears on the support on the housing side, in the state in which it closes the housing, via a sealing which is annularly closed and protects the inside of the housing from atmospheric influences. In the case of high requirements in terms of protection from atmospheric influences a contact pressure which is as uniform as possible has to be ensured on the screen over the circumference of the sealing, requiring relatively complex closure devices. To create a remedy therefor, it is proposed to use angular hooks (1, 3) on the housing side and plates (3, 1) on the screen side with suspension openings (3, 11) for suspending the screen (3) in an articulated manner and to provide closing springs (3, 2) formed from spring band only on that side of the screen which is opposite the plates, which closing springs engage, in a locking manner, with their locking studs (3, 24) behind an angular strip (1, 11) on the housing side when the screen is folded up. <IMAGE>
