Slide-gate closure for the pouring outlet of metallurgical casting vessels, having an inlet sleeve (2) which is held in the bottom (1) of the vessel, and a slide-gate housing in which there are held a bottom plate (4) which is in positive engagement with the inlet sleeve and has a flow-through hole, an outlet sleeve (6) which cooperates with a perforated press-on plate (5), and also a slide-gate plate (7) which likewise has a flow-through hole, in the case of which slide-gate closure the inlet sleeve (2) is provided with a projection (12) in the manner of a pipe stub, which surrounds the flow-through hole (11), and the plates (4, 5, 7) are provided with a corresponding recess which surrounds the flow-through hole. The housing is formed by two port-shaped receptacles (13, 14; 15, 16) for the bottom plate (4) and press-on plate (5), respectively, which receptacles have in their bases in each case a perforation for the passage of the inlet sleeve (2) and the outlet sleeve (6), respectively, and of which the bottom plate (4) is firmly fixed to the bottom (1) of the vessel and the press-on plate (5) is displaceably guided on guides (17) extending perpendicularly to the bottom (1) of the vessel. The press-on plate (5) and the slide-gate plate (7) are jointly held resiliently against the bottom plate (4), the plates being provided, on the one hand, with a band (18) which surrounds their outer edge, and, on the other hand, the bottom and press-on plates (4, 5) having a height which exceeds the edge (14, 16) of their receptacles (13, 15). <IMAGE>
