A thermally actuated flap device (2) consisting of one or more elements is specified, for the complete or partial opening or for the complete or partial closing of an opening (1) through which medium flows at least intermittently. The flap device (2) is equipped with torsion elements (3a, 3b) which are situated completely inside the opening (1) and, on one side, are mechanically coupled (5a) to the flap device (2) and, on the other side, are fixedly connected (5b, 5c) to the housing. By setting the temperature of the torsion elements (3a, 3b) to a predetermined temperature, the flap device (2) is adjusted. <IMAGE>
