PURPOSE: To prolong the life of a print hammer mechanism by providing a lubrication apparatus lubricating the contact face between a print hammer material and a pivotal pin to the print hammer mechanism where one or more print hammer members are provided between two fins having openings in which the pivot pins supporting the print hammer members are fitted. CONSTITUTION: Each fin 11 is integrally formed with a hammer block 21 and formed of the same sintered material. Therefore, a lubricant penetrates through the hammer block 21, fins 11 to core materials 24, 25 in grooves 22, 23 by capillary action, thereby lubricating the contact face between a print hammer and a pivot pin at an area of an opening 15 in the circumference of the pivot pin. When an actuator 26 presses a print hammer member 12 against the movement of a pin 27 biased by a spring, the print hammer member 12 applies a stronger force to the core material 24 and the pivot pin 17, thus pressing the pivot pin 17 leftward. Since the core materials 24, 25 are held in tight contact with a sintered fin 13 and the core materials have a higher porosity than the fin 13, the lubricant permeates from the fin 13 to the core materials because of the capillary action. A flow of the lubricant is thus effectively controlled, whereby performance and the life of the high-speed print hammer are improved. |
