A vibration generator comprises a drive shaft (3) mounting unbalance weights (1, 2). A mechanism for adjusting the mutual position of weights (1, 2) comprises two coaxially arranged cylinders (4, 5) carrying the weights (1, 2) and coupled together by means of coupling means eg. intermeshing teeth (14, 15) provided on their engageable surfaces. One of the cylinders (4) is rigidly mounted on the shaft (3), while the other cylinder (5) is mounted so as to be axially displaceable to allow disengagement of the coupling means, so permitting relative rotation of the cylinders (4, 5) to adjust the relative positions of the weights (1, 2). <IMAGE>
