<p>This invention relates to a transferred plasma-arc torch capable of giving a favorably cut surface having a small angle of inclination even when a thick plate is cut. The torch has a nozzle (1) surrounding the tip of an electrode holder (2) to which an electrode is secured. A tapered working gas passage (4) is defined by the nozzle (1) and the tip. The nozzle (1) has a space (7, 7a, 7b, or 7c) that is formed inside the throat (1a) so as to face the electrode (3), and that satisfies the following relationships: 1.5 « D/d « 10 and 0.75 « H/D « 5, where d is the diameter of the throat, D is the diameter of the space, and H is the length of the space in the axial direction. Further, a swirler (6) for generating a swirling air flow is provided on the upstream side of the gas passage (4).</p> |
