<p>An integrated lighting device includes a housing (Ha) having a long-life light source (3a) electrically hardwired directly to a source of electrical energy (14a). The housing (Ha) is mechanically connected to the electrical box or the architectural surface surrounding the source of electrical energy. Electrical energy modifying elements, such as ballast (6a) are hardwired between the electrical energy source (14a) and the light source (3a). The entirety of the lighting device is therefore disposable at the end of the useful life of the light source.</p> |
