摘要 A novel process and device are useful for burning special wastes and melting (vitrifying) fly ash at the same time. To this end, the slag and the waste gases are burned separately in different industrial processes. The temperature of the rotary tubular kiln is controlled in function of the temperature of the molten slag by addition of controlled combustion air, if necessary by sub-stoichiometric combustion. During combustion of the waste gases, activated combustion air or oxygen are added to high-turbulence zones in downstream aggregates. Vitrification aids can be added to the rotary tubular kiln. The fly ash is bonded to energy-containing substances and added directly to the molten slag at the outlet from the rotary tubular kiln, so that sudden melting, intimate mixing and bonding of the slag from the kiln are ensured by the rotation of the kiln. In addition, it is essential to note that the sub-stoichiometric procedure results in a drastic reduction in the need for liquid wastes and/or additional fuels, an increased output from the rotary tubular kiln and a reduction in NOx formation.
