The invention relates to a method for the production of a plastic-coated supporting strip. In this method, a foam layer of essentially uniform thickness and essentially uniform density of a closed-cell foam of polymeric material is applied to the supporting strip, which is provided with an adhesion promoter. The foam layer consists of a soft, flexible polymer. In the same operation as producing the foam layer on the supporting strip, a cross-sectionally profiled compensating layer of an unfoamed, polymeric material is applied between the foam layer and the supporting strip. |
