PURPOSE:To compress the information of an input signal effectively and to encode and decode the information by encoding an analog signal and generating code data, and varying the sampling frequency at the time of the encoding or decoding in next sampling according to the code data. CONSTITUTION:An adaptive delta modulation ADM system signal processor is provided with an encoding-side sampling frequency varying circuit 34 and a decoding-side sampling frequency varying circuit 40. Then information based upon the inputted analog signal is encoded to generate the code data. The code data, on the other hand, is decoded to generate the analog signal. At this time, the sampling frequencies in the encoding and decoding are varied by sampling frequency varying circuits 34 and 40 according to the code data and next sampling is performed according to the varied sampling frequencies. Consequently, the information is compressed in simple code notation and encoded and decoded. |
