Textile structures, treated with a flame-retardant, with improved wear-resistance and greater tear-resistance are obtained when the textile structures contain 3-30, preferably 5-15, wt.% polyalkylene fibres with a tensile strength of at least 2 GPa and a modulus of at least 60 GPa. The flammability of the textile structures does not appear to have been substantially adversely affected by the inclusion therein of polyalkylene fibres.
