MECHANISM FOR BODY CENTERING AND LEAD TRIMMING A sequencing and inserting machine for electrical components which has a body with axially extending leads. A conveyor is provided and has spaced notches for supporting the leads of the components and for transporting the supported components in spaced relation. A rotatable disc mechanism including a pair of axially spaced wheels each having a plurality of recessed shoulders is provided for receiving the leads of the components. The disc mechanism is displaced in timed relation to the conveyor so that the supported components will be sequentially lifted off of the spaced notches and transferred to the recessed shoulder of the spaced wheels. The components are held in the recessed shoulders as the disc mechanism is displaced to a trimming lead location. The leads are centered and they are trimmed when a component is at the trimming location. |
