PURPOSE:To accurately judge the significance of a fault in a network(NW) to be monitored by an NW monitoring device by deciding the significance of the fault and informing plural network monitoring devices of fault information including the fault significance and fault contents by the NW monitoring device when the fault occurs or is restored. CONSTITUTION:When the fault occurs or is restored in an NW 1(1) to be monitored, a NW monitoring device 2(1) receives fault information b1 to indicate either the occurrence or the restoration of the fault with a reception part 4(1). A significance deciding part 6(1) takes out composition information (c) corresponding to the fault information b1 from an NW composition information part 5(1) based on the fault information b1. The significance deciding part 6(1) decides the significance of the fault based on the composition information (c) and the fault information b1 and classifies the significance of the fault into either serious significance or slight significance for the fault. Information (d) about the significance of the fault is displayed from the significance deciding part 6(1) onto a screen display part 7(1). Thus, the significance of the fault can be accurately judged. |
