<p>PURPOSE: To form a radome whose transparency to radar waves is improved by using a cyanate resin, a bismaleimide resin, an epoxy resin, engineering thermoplastics, and a resin system of a cyanate curing accelerator catalyst which are specifically mixed. CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting resin system includes about >=70wt.% cyanate functional monomer, oligomer, and/or prepolymer, about <=25wt.% bismaleimide, and about 10wt.% epoxy resin as an option. Various cyanate resin systems include about >=70wt.% cyanate functional monomer, oligomer, and/or prepolymer, about <=25wt.% bismaleimide comonomer, and a maximum of about 10wt.% epoxy comonomer, about 0.0001 to 5.0wt.% catalyst, and, if desired, a maximum of about 10wt.% engineering thermoplastics. Thus, the transparency to radar waves is improved.</p> |
