PURPOSE:To obtain a medium free from defect having excellent reliability, productivity and enough strength by welding two substrates into one body in a manner that the welded area of the one substrate is made thinner than the area not welded. CONSTITUTION:The one substrate 3 having the recording layer 2 is stuck to the other substrate 1 by welding the inner circumference and/or the outer circumference of the optical recording medium to make one body with the recording layer 2 inside. The welded area 5 of one substrate is made thinner than the area 6 not welded. Since the welded area 5 of the substrate and/or the back substrate 3 is thin, two substrates are easily welded by hotpress, etc. The substrate except for the welded area has normal thickness to maintain the mechanical strength of the optical recording medium. Thereby, the medium has good storage property, productivity and enough strength. |
