PURPOSE:To obtain an antitumor active polypeptide, consisting of a special amino acid sequence, improved in stability, widened reaction spectrum, remarkably improved in specific activity and capable of reducing side effects by modifying a human tumor necrosis factor(TNF). CONSTITUTION:A physiologically active polypeptide having an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula (X is optional amino acid, preferably Phe, Trp or Met). The above-mentioned polypeptide is deficient in 7 amino acid residues on the amino-terminal side of a human TNF protein and obtained by replacing Pro<8>Ser<9>Asp<10> with ArgLysArg and further Ala<156> and Leu<157> with other amino acid residues. |
