PURPOSE:To economically mass-produce a tapered rod having desired dimensions, by controlling a moving speed of roller dies and a drawing speed of a material to be worked by setting a prescribed value basing on a set value of taper as a target value. CONSTITUTION:In drawing a material M to be worked by holding the material M with a draw bench 8 of a drawing mechanism 9, a moving speed of the bench 8 is measured by a drawing speed measuring device 10 to be sent to a controller 11 and is compared with a set value outputted from a drawing speed setting device 12, and then a controlling signal is sent to the mechanism 9 so as to coincide both values with each other. On the other hand, in controlling a moving speed of roller dies 1 and 1', a present gap is inputted from a rotary encoder 5 to a controller 4 to compute the moving speed of the dies in the direction of enlarging the gap between the roller dies 1 and 1' or reducing it, and a die press-down mechanism 2 is driven through a pulse motor 3 by setting a set value outputted from a setting device 6 for dies moving speed as a target value. Further in a zone of a parallel part of the rod, a measured value from the encoder 5 is compared with a set value from a rod diameter setting device 7 to work the material by stopping the dies 1 and 1' for a prescribed time. |
