A saw accessory for enabling any desired angle of crosscut to be effected in a workpiece (10) by an electric saw of the kind comprising a saw blade which projects through a slot in a sole plate (2), the accessory comprising a first member (5) which can be rested against an edge or surface of the workpiece, and an elongate second member (6) which is arranged to be angularly adjustable realtive to the first member and adapted to be placed on and extend across the upper, working surface (10a) of the workpiece to provide a lateral support for the sole plate of the electric saw during sawing, characterised in that said second member is of such a length relative to the length of the intended crosscut that it provides a sliding surface (6b) on which the sole plate of the electric saw can be placed prior to sawing, moved during sawing and supported after sawing, in that the sliding surface of the second member has slide means (8) associated therewith - to provide said lateral support, against which the rear edge of the sole plateengages and is guided thereby during sawing, and in that an elongate third member (9) is connected to the second member, which in use is pressed directly against said upper surface (10a) of the workpiece by the user so as to hold the first and second members in place against the said workpiece, said third member extending in the same direction as the second member and being spaced beyond the adjacent edge of its sliding surface so that the sawblade of the electric saw cannot combe into contact with the relevant hand (11a) or other limb part of the user during sawing |
