PRODUCTION OF NEW RECOMBINANT DNA AND PHOSPHOTRANSACETYLASE

PURPOSE:To enable obtaining of phosphotransacetylase(PTA) in high yield by integrating a DNA containing a gene capable of coding the PTA in a vector DNA and transforming microbial cells of the genus Escherichia therewith. CONSTITUTION:A DNA (preferably a DNA derived from Escherichia.coli 1100 strain) containing a gene capable of coding PTA is inserted into a vector DNA to provide a recombinant DNA, which is then used to transform microbial cells belonging to the genus Escherichia. The resultant transformant is subsequently cultured to collect the PTA from the culture thereof. The vector DNA is preferably a plasmid pBR322 or pUC118DNA.
