PURPOSE:To avoid the corrosion of a magnetic disk, by putting a volatile corrosion inhibitor into a container storing a storage means and a magnetic head of a device using a magnetic metal to the storage medium. CONSTITUTION:A container 3 containing a volatile corrosion inhibitor of the primary, secondary or tertiary amine or their nitrites, etc. is put into a sealed magnetic storage device 1. If the container 3 is set above a disk 2 attached to a rotary shaft 4 within the device 1, the vapor of the inhibitor disperses throughout the inside of the container 3 to ensure a better effect. A magnetic head 5 is provided in the device 1. Thus the corrosion of the magnetic layer of the disk 2 using a magnetic metallic thin film is prevented to avoid an error due to the deterioration or the loss of the magnetic properties and the local corrosion. |
