PURPOSE:To obtain the subject yarn having specific gravity and specific tensile strength suitable as fishing net, etc., by coating the surface of a synthetic fiber yarn with a synthetic resin containing a substance having high specific gravity and coating the surface of the coating layer with a synthetic resin layer containing a specific algicide and fungicide. CONSTITUTION:An antifouling filament yarn having high specific gravity and effective in suppressing the adhesion of aquatic life is produced by coating a synthetic fiber yarn composed of filaments of polyester, nylon, etc., with a resin layer (preferably acrylic resin or polyurethane resin layer) containing a substance having high specific gravity such as lead or copper compound (preferably in an amount of 10-50wt.%) and further coating the coated surface with a synthetic resin layer (preferably acrylic resin, etc.) containing an S- triazine-type algicide (preferable example: 2-methylthio-4-tetrabutylamino-6- cyclopropylamino-S-triazine) and a sulfamide-type fungicide. |
