PURPOSE:To obtain a gas detecting element having high sensitivity and high reliability to CO by forming a gas sensitive body using a material having a prescribed compsn. CONSTITUTION:A sintered body of a mixture in which at least one of Cd and Au are added respectively at 1.0-20 and 0.1-10wt% in terms of CdO and Au to alpha-Fe2O3 contg. at least one kind of Ge and Th at 0.1-50mol% in total respectively in terms of GeO2 and ThO2 is formed. A comb-shaped gold electrode 2 is formed on the front of a base plate 1 and a gold electrode 3 and a glaze resistor 4 are formed on the rear of the plate 1. The paste of the above-described sintered body is coated on the front of the plate 1 and is heated after drying to form a sintered film 5. A gas detecting element having high sensitivity and high reliability to CO is thus obtd. |
