Stretchable slide fastener is extendable lengthwise by at least 10%, and has rows of headed coupling elements mounted along the edges of stretchable stringer tapes, the pitch between adjacent elements being increased when the tapes are stretched, but the pitch increase always being smaller than an interval which is twice the height of a coupling head. Specifically the stringer tapes are knitted or woven, and includes stretch limiting yarns as core members, multifilament nylon warps lying on the core members, and opt. spandex yarns in knitted cords. |
