<p>PURPOSE: To remove the deposits on the inner side of an object by providing the apparatus with a chamber, a device for advancing air therein, a device for forming an explosive gas-air mixture within the chamber by advancing an explosive gas into the chamber, a device for inducing a shock wave by igniting the gas-air mixture and a device for inducing turbulence in the chamber. CONSTITUTION: A solenoid valve 24 is opened to advance the explosive gas from a tank 26 through a pipe 22 into a lower pipe joint 32 and to mix the gas with the air or thick oxygen air passing a pipe 10. The explosive gas-air mixture is carried into the chamber 12 by the air passing the pipe 10. After the gas-air mixture fills the entire part of the chamber 12, the ignition device 16 starts firing an the valve 24 is held closed during the firing of the device 16. The explosive gas-air mixture is ignited by firing of the device 16 to generate the explosion wave. This wave emerges from the open end of the chamber 12 and is an ultrasonic wave at the initial contact point with the portion of the equipment to be cleaned. The wave, then, passes the portion of the equipment to be cleaned and persists. The deposits and particles are removed and carried away from the inside walls of the equipment by the action of the wave passing the portion of the equipment.</p> |
