PURPOSE:To obtain an optical scanner which is small in size and is easy to adjust by such constitution wherein the parallel light on the outside of an effective scanning region before the passage through an imaging lens system is detected and a start signal for scanning is thereby detected. CONSTITUTION:The parallel light on the outside of the effective scanning range before the passage through an imaging lens 3 out of the parallel light emitted from a module 1 which is mounted to a block 4 and is provided with a semiconductor laser and a collimating lens system in one body is detected with a detector 8, and the timing for starting the scanning is accordingly detected. Since the detector 8 is provided on the rotary polyhedral mirror 2 side behind the lens 3, the device is small in size and is easy to adjust. |
