The present invention relates to a structure for supporting the perforated mask 3 of a flat panel colour television tube comprising a perforated mask of the tension type supported on a panel 1, characterised in that the peripheral parts of the panel 1 are turned backwards to form a clamping part 1a which receives several pins 7, a perforated mask 3 being coupled to a frame 4, a certain level of tension being applied between them when forming the perforated mask assembly 2; and in that several springs containing coupling holes are arranged around the periphery of the assembly facing the pins 7; the pins 7 and the springs 5 being coupled together, so that the panel 1 supports the assembly 2 elastically. The process according to the present invention can be carried out in full using the existing installations for producing parabolic colour television tubes. <IMAGE>
