<p>PURPOSE:To simplify installation of an air bag and a robe-cord by a method wherein an opening of the air bag and a base of the robe-cord are fixed to a ring-like air bag securing ring and a robe-cord securing ring respectively while both securing rings are overlaid and fixed to an installation base. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus provided with an air bag device 6 consisting of a gas generator 4 and an air bag 5 at the center of a steering wheel 3, an opening 15a of the air bag 5 is secured to an installation base 7a provided on an outer periphery of the gas generator 4. A base end 13b of several belt-like robe-cords 13 with their tips 13a sutured to the rear face of an upper base cloth 12 is secured to the opening 15a. At the time of securing it to the opening 15a, the opening 15a and the base end 13b are fixed to a ring-like air bag securing ring 18 and a robe-cord securing ring 16, and both securing rings 18,16 are secured to the installation base 7a with a rivet 17c or the like with the two rings overlaid.</p> |
