PURPOSE:To carry out scan for the documents of the sheets preset to be scanned by stopping and controlling a document feeder and notifying a recording device of jam detection when a jammed condition of documents is judged by a jam detecting/judging portion. CONSTITUTION:When a jammed condition of documents is detected at the feeder of a document feed device by a jam detecting portion 37a, a jam detecting/judging portion 37b stops the document feed device and judges the notification of jam detection to a recording device body according to the existence of documents during scanning. A control portion 37c stops the action of the document feed device and notifies the recording device body of jam detection according to the judging results from the jam judging portion 37b when there are no documents to be scanned. When there are documents to be scanned, on the other hand, scanning is carried out repeatedly by the preset copies of documents during scanning, and after discharging them to a given discharging portion, the document feed device is stopped to notify the recording device of jam detection. This provides scanning for the preset sheets of documents to be scanned. |
