PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic alloy having small coercive force and high saturation magnetic flux density without using a multilayer structure and useful as a material for magnetic head by using an Fe - group IIIb element oxide having a specific composition. CONSTITUTION:An alloy of formula FewMxOy (55<=w<=98, 1<=x<=25, 1<=y<=20 and w+x+y=100; M is group IIIb element such as Al or Ga) or an alloy of formula FewMxOyRuz (55<=w<=97.7, 1<=x<=25, 1<=y<=20, O.3<=z and w+x+y+z=100; M is same as above) is used as a magnetic alloy suitable for a magnetic head for high-density magnetic recording. |
