PURPOSE:To preserve a reagent compounded with N-(1 naphthyl)ethylene diamine for a long period of time without discoloration by adding phosphoric acid as a stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:The reagent consists of two liquids: The liquid A (sulfanyl amide soln.) is prepd. by dissolving 10g powdered sulfanyl amide (NH2C6H4SO2NH2) in 600ml refined water, and adding 100ml hydrochloric acid and refined water thereto to make the entire volume to 1, and the liquid B[N-(1 naphthyl)ethylene diamine soln.]is prepd. by dissolving 1g powdery N-(1 naphthyl)ethylene diamine dihydrochloride (C10H7NHCH2CH2NH22HCl) in 100ml ethyl alcohol (99.5% soln.), adding 0.5ml phosphoric acid as a stabilizer thereto and making the entire volume to 100.05ml. Measurement is accomplished by adding 0.5ml the liquid A and 0.5ml the liquid B into the test water drawn in a 5ml test tube. When nitrous nitrogen is detected after 1-2sec, the test water shows a pink red color. |
