The subject of the present invention is a device for metering liquid, thick food products. It consists of the combination, firstly of a framework 22 equipped with a control panel 28, movable by virtue of swivelling castors 27, in which is fitted a storage vessel 18 mounted on a transfer carriage 17 and equipped with a motorised stirrer (agitator), then of a single peristaltic pump supported by the abovementioned framework and driven by a variable-speed motor, and finally of a metering head 4 which can be adjusted in terms of height, is interchangeable as a function of the fluidity of the product to be metered and includes an adjustable-duration opening system as well as an optoelectronic device for detecting the presence of the container 5 to be filled. It is intended for filling trays or other packages with liquid products such as sauces, gravy or other substances, or with thick products such as purees or the like. <IMAGE>
