A rotary connector (10) for transmitting very high frequency waves between a stationary part and a moving part has a cavity (28) which is bounded by two coaxial cylindrical shells (12, 14) whose open ends are opposite one another and which are separated by an airgap (25), while their opposite ends (20, 22) are closed. Waveguides (60, 80) are radially connected to the interior, which is bounded by these shells, by means of coupling slots (50, 56) in their annular sidewall (16, 18). The two shells (12, 14) are supported on one another by a ball connection such that they can rotate, which ball connection has a circular groove (30) in the outer surface of the shell (14), a collar (34) which is firmly connected to the second shell (12), and a clamping ring (40) having an L-shaped cross-section. <IMAGE>
