Deep-drawable textile material and shaped articles produced therefrom

Deep-drawable sheetlike textile material, characterised in that it consists predominantly of a covered yarn whose covering thread is from 1.5 to 3 times as long as the core thread and preferably has a higher strength than the latter, a three-dimensionally deformed sheetlike textile material with an open or resin-closed resin-stiffened thread network formed therefrom, in which the core threads of the covered yarn have been partly torn or extended in the deformed regions. Also described is a sheetlike sandwich structure whose core consists of the above three-dimensionally deformed, resin-stiffened sheetlike textile material, and also a process for producing said objects.
