A description is given of a motor vehicle with a self-locking differential (80) in which at least some of the gear wheels (34, 32, 18) present act as a gear pump on a pressure medium in order to build up the pressure that gives rise to the locking effect. To cancel the locking effect, the pressure chambers of the gear pump can be relieved via openings (46) provided in an internal gear (18).
